Hi! I’m Andrew Claassen.

I am an educational professional with 10+ years of experience in grades K-12, higher education, and organizational learning as it relates to instructional design/delivery, program development, online learning, and product design/development. A professionally certified Florida educator, and recipient of the 2017 Florida’s Best and Brightest Teacher award given by the Florida Department of Education, I have served in a number of leadership roles in education as a department head, mentor, and teacher-educator for pre-service and beginning teachers. As a product leader at MassiveU, a digital education technology company focused on problem- and project-based social learning, my team and I are the proud recipients of EdTech Breakthrough’s “Creativity Solution of the Year” award for Solvably, our innovative digital collaborative and creative problem solving platform.

I am a former Big East quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes (“The U”). I was awarded a full scholarship to attend the world-renowned Frost School of Music, where I studied Education, English Literature, and Music, graduating with undergraduate and master’s degrees. I’m the author of The Global Convergence of Learning, Technology, and Workforce Development. This white paper observes how learning, technology, and workforce development are now converging to a collective crest and presents a framework for accelerating skills needed to thrive in the workforce. I am currently the Vice President of Learning and Operations at MassiveU as well as a doctoral student in Education at Indiana University with a focus on Instructional Systems Technology. I’m passionate about innovations in teaching and learning that meet at the intersections of the future of work and the future of learning.
